Rev. Cornelis Kant – Executive Director

editor - 26 July 2018

Reverend Cornelis Kant is the Executive Director of Christians for Israel International. He has been involved in Christians for Israel for over 20 years. During his early career in the banking sector, Rev. Cornelis studied theology at the Utrecht State University. After obtaining his master degree in 1994, he became a pastor in the Protestant Church in the Netherlands. From 1994 till 2018 he served five church communities in several parts of the Netherlands.

‘I have always felt a special love and interest for Israel. Perhaps I inherited this from my mother, who always spoke about the miracle of Israel and the Jewish people, when I was still young. In 1995 I visited Israel for the first time in my life and since then I visited Israel every two years with a group of my church. In my calling as pastor I experienced a special calling for Israel. I always regarded it as a mission of God to speak about the biblical promises for Israel and the Jewish people. The covenants of God with Israel are everlasting and Israel still has an important role in Gods redemptive plan for the world.’

Rev. Cornelis is author of the book ‘From Eisenach to Betlehem’ which was published in 2015. In this book he gives an historical presentation of anti-Jewish thinking and actions in the Christian Church over the ages. More specifically he gives a presentation of the anti-Jewish and anti-Zionist theology among many Palestinian Christian theologians. It’s a rather confrontational book which is available in English, German and Dutch.
