The Need to Be Careful
& Prayerful How We Pray
2 Samuel 7:23 And who is like your people, like Israel, the one nation on the earth whom God went to redeem for Himself as a people, to make for Himself a name, and to do for Yourself great and awesome deeds for Your land, before Your people who You redeemed for Yourself from Egypt, the nations, and their gods? NKJ

The recent Lebanon / Israeli war was only a pre cursor for what is about to come upon Israel and it is looking like it will happen sooner than most people think. The "storm clouds" are gathering. The nations that surround Israel, namely Iran, Syria, Lebanon and also Egypt, are at this very moment, frantically rebuilding and strategising, setting in place, and collaborating with each other to bring about Israel's destruction.

The U.S.A, Europe and other nations of the world, who on one hand say they want to create peace between Israel and her neighbors, are on the other hand, scheming, working with and supplying Israel's enemies with the very latest sophisticated and highly destructive weaponry.   They are blatantly ignoring and defying the latest UN Resolution 1701 which prohibits Hizb'Allah re-arming, and a blatant defiance against the plans and purposes of Adonai Tsevaot, the God of the armies of Israel.

Back on the home front, our present government gets weaker by the day, thus weakening the whole infrastructure of the nation and the Israeli Defense Forces ( IDF), together creating the recipe for a very vulnerable and powerless nation,   improperly equipped and ill-prepared to stand against our enemies in the next round of war.

What most people don't realise is that the God of Israel is allowing this . It is all a part of His plan. Remember the heart of a king ( a leader) is in the hand of the Lord, and like rivers of waters, He turns it whatever way pleases Him - (look at the Tenach and the hearts of kings/leaders where our God controlled and turned their hearts in whichever way it pleased Him, so the purposes and plans of His people Israel would come to pass)   What is yet to come for Israel, has to happen.   He is preparing to bring Israel and her people to be in a place where she will have no where to turn to in a time that will be extremely life threatening, probably bringing about much devastation and destruction. Israel will have no choice but to "take a hold" of the God of Israel in a way that she has never previously needed to or has ever taken hold of Him before. She will cry out to her God for deliverance, ( a little bit like the Red sea experience). This is the heart "cry" that God wants and waits to hear from His people. This is a "cry" that God always answers. He does not want them calling upon the USA, the UN or even relying on our own IDF. The reason He is preparing for this to happen, (aside from Israel's salvation and deliverance) is, as it says in the Tenach, so that all the Earth (the nations) will know that there is a God in Israel.

If we read in Psalm 107 we read of the many accounts where Israel came to the "end of road" or a "dead end" where they were brought to the lowest place, and it says when in this place, THEN they TURNED TO THE LORD AND CRIED OUT TO HIM IN THEIR TROUBLE and He delivered them out of their distresses. ( I encourage you to read all of Psalm 107) Israel has to be brought to this place again as a nation, THEN we will turn to Him and He will deliver us.

1 Samuel 17 recounts the story of the conflict between David the shepherd boy and the Philistine giant Goliath. Little David is a picture of "little" Israel today, and the huge Goliath represents the Islamic Arab nations that surround Israel and are despairate to destroy her. David at that time looked very unimportant, weak, powerless and pathetic He was scoffed at by Goliath who was great in stature, very strong, well trained in battle and well equipped with armor. In the natural David was no match for Goliath who was puffed up with pride and extremely self assured. Goliath mocked, taunted and ridiculed David, believing that he would have no trouble overwhelming and killing David,thus gaining the victory. However, Goliath the Philistine did not realise that little David came in the name of the Lord of Hosts of Israel and in His power.

The nations planning and devising Israel's destruction is a repetition of this 'giant' in every way. They do not realise that they are defying the The God of Israel. They are having their moment of 'glory' of glee now, in how they think, wish and in what they are planning. The very destruction that they are preparing for Israel, will be the destruction that will come upon themselves and their nations... Psalm 35:8 says Let destruction come upon him unexpectedly and let his net that he has hidden, catch himself, into that very destruction let him fall    - The head of the enemy has to be taken off.

When Israel comes to the end of herself, and cries out to the Lord in her trouble and distress, then He will come and deliver. It has to get worse, so Israel will come into this place of deep distress. That is the hard side of the story - but the good side of the story is our (Israel's) hope, which comes from the promises of the written everlasting word of The God of Israel Himself.

David and I personally feel challenged to share with our Israeli friends what I have written here, and what we are going to have to endure and face as a nation in the future, but then to show them from the Tenach of the hope that we have in God's word. This hope is the same hope that has kept and been carried in the hearts of thousands of Jewish people for centuries. It is our job as believers in this land to support and help prepare our people to understand the plans of our God, but we also need to tell them that there is hope and the God of Israel, Adonai Tsveaot is that hope, and that He will deliver us.

There are always two sides to any story isn't there............... and this story, the story of Israel has to be the story of all stories, surely The God of Israel, is the Creator of Israel and He does not and will not destroy what He has created.In fact, a creator of anything does not usually want to destroy what he/she has created or made.    Israel's redemption is already set in place waiting for her appointed time. What a hope !   Oh, little does our enemy know what they are 'playing' with. We need to be careful how we pray. Lets be careful how we pray. Don't pray to stop what has to happen - pray for Israel to have hearts that will be ready to TURN to the Lord and cry out -

The Lord bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel . Do not be silent, but share this to your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for that breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray for our son Jordan, and all of his fellow soldiers in the IDF.
